Talenture RS stores all of your application data in backend databases on the Talenture RS Server machine. You need to take regular backup of this data to guard against data loss due to unexpected system failures.
If a Talenture RS database is damaged due to a system crash, user error or any other reason, the backup copy may be used to re-create or restore the database.
Talenture RSt provides both manual i.e. interactive backup as well as automated scheduled backups.
- Manual Backup: This is done interactively by the users.
- Background/On-Demand Backup: The backup runs in the background at pre-defined days/times without any user intervention.
While taking backups you can also create compressed archive of the backup folder. This is useful for copying the backup to storage media such as DVD drives or to save space on the hard drive/external drive.
To keep your Talenture RS data secure follow a regular backup schedule of a backup at least once a week. To ensure optimal security of your backups ensure the backup folder is on a non-Operating System (OS) partition or a secure network location.
A dedicated physical Hard Drive is recommended. If not taking backup on the server, you can use an external hard drive also.
Restoring from Backups
If a Talenture RS database is damaged due to a system crash, user error or any other reason, the backup copy may be used to re-create or restore the database. You can use the ‘Restore Database’ option from PSAN Manager for restoring a database to its original state.
