This document explains how to import resume files in bulk from your computer hard disk to Talenture RS. You may require to do this in case you want to migrate your existing resume data in the form of disk files (MS Word, PDF, RTF etc.) into the Talenture RS database.
Note: You need to have an archiving tool such as WinRAR or any other compression tool for performing these steps. The steps below assume that you have the WinRAR archiving tool installed on your computer.
The process for importing resume files in bulk from on your disk into Talenture RS broadly involves the following steps:
a. Creating ‘chunks’ of files for importing by bunching multiple resume files into ‘.zip’ or ‘.rar’ archives.
b. Importing each archive of files using the ‘Import Resume from Desktop’ option in Talenture RS.
1. Create Chunks of Resume Files
1.0 Collect all resume files for importing into Talenture RS in a common folder on your computer.
1.1 Now create chunks of resume files by archiving each set of 25 files into a ‘.zip’ or ‘.rar’ file.
Select a set of 25 files from the folder and then right-click on the selected files and from the context
menu select ‘Add to archive’.
Note: Do not select more than 25 files for each compressed archive/zip as adding more than this number will cause the resume import to fail.
1.2 In the ‘Archive name’ field, give the name in the format ‘ResumeSet<number>.rar” where < number> would be a number. For example, “rar”.
1.3 Repeat above step for each set of 25 resume files in the folder. At the end of this process you would have a set of ‘.rar’ archive files in a series such as “ResumeSet1.rar”, “ResumeSet2.rar”, “ResumeSet3.rar” etc.
2. Import Archived Resume Files into Talenture RS
2.0 Login to Talenture RS and from the ‘Tools’ menu, select the option ‘Import Resumes from Desktop’.
2.1 In the screen that comes up, click on the ‘Browse’ buttons and select 2 of the resume archive files created in the previous set of steps.
2.2. Click on the ‘Import Resumes’ button. Now Talenture RS will start importing the resumes from the 2 selected archive files.
2.3. Once the import process is completed i.e. the text in red coloured font at the top of the page disappears, you can select the next 2 archive files and again click the ‘Import Resumes’.
Repeat the above steps by selecting 2 archive files for each import action. Note that you should not select more than 2 archive files at a time in order for the import process to complete in a timely way.
