Summary
Talenture RS‘s Open Recruitment Framework (ORF) enables external vendor users to securely participate in your recruitment process via the Talenture RS platform. This article explains the different types of vendor relationships supported by the Talenture RS product, implications of each on application rights, data visibility and where you can specify it in Talenture RS.
1. Details
You can use ORF for enabling collaborative recruitment activity with vendors. This allows you to create special ORF login-ids in Talenture RS for a vendor allowing them to use the Talenture RS platform remotely for collaborating with your internal recruitment team on jobs.
Using the ‘Relationship’ field you can define the kind of business relationship established with a vendor. For example Associate Firm, Franchisee etc. This allows you to reflect in Talenture RS the exact collaborative arrangement you have with each vendor.
Note that the Relationship field only defines the type of ORF relationship you have with the vendor i.e. as an Associate, Franchisee etc. It does not control access to Talenture RS to users from that vendor.
1.1 Types of Relationships
The following types of relationships are available as per the type of business arrangement you have with the vendor.
- Associate Firm: Staffing companies having expertise in specific domains/verticals/functions. Business collaboration is generally based on revenue sharing or per position model. For e.g. a company providing screening & verification services.
- Franchisee: Firm that works as sister concern of your organization under common branding, assisting in establishing and operating the complete business process. For e.g. a staffing firm ‘Unique Executive Search Ltd.’ based in Delhi sets up franchisee offices in Bangalore & Hyderabad by tying up with executive search firms in those locations.
- Freelancer: Collaboration with an independent HR consultant who has expertise in hiring for a specific domain. Typically used for leveraging unique candidate databases, expertise/network of seasoned HR professionals in specific domains/positions. For e.g. an HR professional having experience in hiring for executive level positions in the Telecom industry.
1.2 Effect on User Rights/Data Visibility for Each Relationship Type
The relationship type you select for a vendor affects the feature permissions and access/visibility to data in Talenture RS as follows:
- Associate Firm
- Allowed: Access to candidate database, add/modify candidates in database, link candidates to Jobs.
- Denied: Users from such vendors are denied all other permissions such as deleting candidates, accessing business development features, creating Jobs, performing candidate interfacing, client interfacing roles etc.
- Franchisees
- Allowed: Access to candidate database, add/modify candidates in database, create new Jobs, link candidates to Jobs, perform candidate interfacing, client interfacing roles on Jobs.
- Denied: Users from such vendors are denied other permissions such as deleting candidates/Jobs, accessing business development features & financial roles.
- Freelancers
- Allowed: Access to candidate database, add/modify candidates in database, link candidates to Jobs, perform candidate interfacing, lead recruiter and client interfacing roles on Jobs.
- Denied: Users from such vendors are denied other permissions such as deleting candidates/Jobs, accessing business development features & financial roles.
1.3 Modifying User Permissions
Although permissions for each of the vendor relationships discussed above are preset in the system, Talenture RS allows users to modify these permissions to align with their vendor roles.
Note that the preset permissions for vendor users can only be modified if the option ‘Allow modification of permissions for System defined User Groups‘ is set in the Talenture RS System Configuration module by a user having administrative privileges.
1.4 Data Views & Data Isolation
ORF ensures that external users participate in your process without getting any unintended usage rights.
For example, when assigning roles on a Job, user lists are properly filtered to show only users with appropriate permissions.
Similarly users-ids are grouped by collaboration type such as Freelancer, Associate etc. for avoiding mistakes in assignment.
Further, you can use system level settings to ensure that a partner/associate or client organization can view only its own data via its logins and perform recruitment actions on its candidates only.
