Summary
Talenture RS provides the resume sources feature for tracking the sources from where candidates are added to the database.
This article explains important aspects of the resume sources feature, usage scenarios and how to maximize its benefits.
1. Details
Resume Sources are the sources to which Candidate Records in Talenture RS can be attributed. They can be considered as the point of "provisioning" of the candidate database. Resume sources may be websites, people, email-ids, external organizations, vendors, etc.
The Source Tracking feature allows you to define & track sources from where you get resumes in Talenture RS and track your best candidate sources and quickly access relevant candidates.
A Resume Source contains the following details:
- Source Name
- Address/contact details
- Email Address
- Source Type
- Source Status
You can add Resume Sources from the System Configuration module via a user login having administrative privileges.
a. Source Information Tagging for Candidates
Tagging of source information for candidates can be done in 2 ways: manually and automatically.
- Manual: In this case you can select the source information while adding resumes to Talenture RS. An example of manual tagging would be selecting the source type name during Quick import of resumes.
You can also update the source information of a candidate in Talenture RS from the detail page from the Source Info section. - Automatic: In the case of automatic tagging you would create candidate source rules for setting the source information for resumes received via email from vendors, associates, group companies etc.
Using Resume Source Tagging
You can use resume source information for filtering candidate lists on the basis of source details as well as while working on Jobs:
- Added/Refreshed Candidates: You can use the Source Type & Source Name columns to view the source information for candidates added to Talenture RS from different sources such as via company website, Job Boards, email from associates etc.
- Job Activity View: You can also use candidate source information when working on a job. You can prioritize the best candidates for screening based on the source type by filtering on the Source Type & Source Name columns available here.
So if you receive the best candidates from a specific source like your company website, just apply a filter on that and then start your screening.
1.1 Automatic Setting of Source Information
To enable auto-tagging you can create Candidate Source Rules based on the sender or recipient email-ids.
A Candidate Source Rule defines the criteria based on which the source information should be set automatically for candidates added to Talenture RS. You can create multiple rules matching each source type that you want to track.
You can define Candidate Source Rules from the System Configuration module via a user login having administrative privileges.
Refer to the following help article to learn how to add Candidate Source Rules: Configuring Candidate Source Rules.
a. How Resume Source Rules Get Applied
After Resume Source Rules are defined, whenever you add resumes from email, Talenture RSautomatically applies each rule on the incoming mail and if a message matches the criteria of a rule it tags the candidate created from the email message with the source type and name specified in the rule.
Example
Let us assume you want the source information for resumes received from your associate company to be set based in the sender’s email-id ‘resumes@primemanpower.com’, via which you receive resumes.
So when defining a rule for this, you’ll specify:
- The email-id ‘resumes@primemanpower.com’ in the ‘From’ field based on which the source information is to be set.
- In the ‘Source Type’ field select ‘Business Associate’. Note that when creating a Candidate Source Rule, the ‘Source Type’ drop-down will display more sources including implicit sources.
- In the ‘Source Name’ field select the associate company name i.e. ‘Prime Manpower Services’.
b. Important Facts regarding Resume Source Rules
- In case multiple rules are defined, the ‘Sequence No.’ field in each rule is used to decide the order in which each rule is applied. The lowest value in the ‘Sequence No.’ field is evaluated first.
- You can modify the order in which rules should be evaluated by giving the appropriate values in the ‘Sequence No’ field for each source rule.
- You can specify multiple rules for the same type. For example in the case of Job Boards if you have subscription to both Naukri.com and Monster.com then you can add 2 source rules for the same ‘Source Type’ i.e. ‘Job Board’ with different source names.
So in the case of Naukri the ‘Source Name’ may be set as ‘Naukri.com’ and in the case of Monster, it will be set as ‘Monster.com’.
1.2 Resume Source Based Reports
You can use resume source information to generate sourcing reports in the Reports module based on the resume sources you’ve defined.
Such reports can be used by Hiring Managers/Recruiting Heads etc. to track the following:
- Sourcing break-up of volume of candidates being added to your database from each of your defined resume sources in different periods of time.
- Candidate Updation break-up showing candidate details updated in the database by your team members from each source.
Specific reports for such scenarios in the Report module include:
- Team Management->Manual Reports->Candidate Sourcing & Updation->Sourcing Summary->By Source & Period: This view shows candidates added to Talenture RS by team members grouped by source and period.
- Team Management->Manual Reports->Candidate Sourcing & Updation->Updation Summary->By Source, User & Period: This view shows candidates updated in Talenture RS by your team members grouped by source in specific periods.
